Child Labour

Child Labour

A lot of brand-name clothes are made in sweatshops. A sweatshop is a working environment where people, mostly children, are forced to work for little pay, in a dangerous and unhealthy environment. A lot of sweatshops pay less then a dollar every day. A lot of the jobs that are done endanger the worker, and can affect the persons mental and physical health.

Sweatshops are mostly located in developing countries. A lot of times, the child’s parents owed someone money, and sent the child to work so that they could get the money. However, the child is not able to make the money and is forced to work in the sweatshop for most of their life.

The working conditions in a sweatshop are terrible. There are lots of diseases around the workplaces, and the workers are often not properly fed, so lots of the workers die of starvation.

If we do not stop sweatshops, there will be more people who will suffer in them. Things can be done to help, such as not buying clothes from companies that use sweatshops or supporting organizations that try to stop sweatshops.

Remembering the Holocaust

When Germany was in debt after WWI, a man in the government named Adolf Hitler, started blaming Germany's debt on the Jewish people. As he became higher in the government, Hitler started proposeing anti-Semitism laws, prohibiting the Jewish people from doing thing others were able to do.

The fictional story,"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" was a very touching story from the Holocaust. It is about when a boy who's father is Cammandant at Aucshwitz camp, befriends a boy he meets on the other side of the fence. The boy sneaks in the other side of the fence, but the two boys are forced into a gas chamber, where they die.

I think we need to remember the Holocaust, to remember all those that died, all those who survived, and that we can't make that kind of mistake again.

When Germany was in debt after WWI, a man in government named Adolf Hitler, started to blame The Jewish people for Germany's Debt. As he rised in the government, he started proposing the Anti-Semitism laws, preventing Jewish people from doing anything that non-Jewish people were doing.

The fictional story "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas", was one that touched me. It was about how a boy whos father was Commandant at Aucshwitz, met a boy in the other side of the fence, in the camp. The two boys became friends, but one the two were inside the camp, they were forced into the gas chamber, where they died.

I think we need to remember the Holocaust so we remember those who died, and so we dont repeat the same mistake again.
